Bitstamp Lists Shiba Inu (SHIB) as the meme coin adoption grows

Shiba Inu (SHIB) token has been listed by yet another major crypto exchange, Bitstamp, as more crypto exchanges continue listing the meme coin amid its growing adoption around the globe.
The listing comes after other major exchanges including Gemini, Kraken, Huobi, Binance, Coinbase, Gate.io, Uniswap (V2), Mercado Bitcoin, and OKEx listed the coin.
Bitstamp’s listing brings the number of crypto exchanges that have listed SHIB since November to three. First, it was Gemini followed by Kraken whose listing caused the market price to jump quite considerably a few days ago.
SHIB coin listing on Bitstamp
Unlike previous listing or news of a possible listing that causes the meme coin’s price to jump, Bitstamp’s listing causes very little excitement in the market.
The SHIB price took an upward trajectory on Wednesday (November 8) before and after the listing but it has since dipped by about 1.5%.
Besides Shiba Inu, Bitstamp also announced a listing of three other cryptocurrencies that include the dydx (DYDX), Perpetual Protocol (PERP), and Gala (GALA) coins.
After adding the coins to the trading platform, users will be able to trade them against the US dollar and the Euro. That means that the pairs of the four cryptocurrencies will be either be against the USD or the EUR.
Besides trading the coins including Shiba Inu, users will also be able to make Shiba Inu (SHIB) deposits and withdrawals from the London-based crypto exchange (Bitstamp).
Other functions that will be available on Bitstamp for the four added cryptocurrencies include ‘Order matching’ and placing and canceling of ‘Limit Orders’.
Bitstamp however clarified about enabling all order types saying:
“Once the order books gather sufficient liquidity, we will enable all order types and card purchases for the new trading pairs as well.”
Not available for US and Singapore customer
While a majority of Bitstamp’s users were elated by the news of especially being able to deposit, trade, and withdraw the Shiba Inu coin from the exchange, not all the exchange’s customers will be able to access the four added coins.
Bitstamp noted that the four added cryptocurrencies including Shiba Inu will not be available to US and Singapore customers for the time being.
The rising Shiba Inu (SHIB) adoption
Besides exchanges adding the meme coin on their trading platforms, other players within the crypto space are also embracing the meme coin, which has become a major contender within the crypto space.
On Tuesday (December 7) a crypto-friendly travel website called Travala announced that it has added SHIB as one of the acceptable payment methods thus allowing their customer to purchase travel products using the meme coin.
Recently, Newegg, which is a retail giant, announced that it will start accepting SHIB payments this month. AMC Theater also said that it shall start accepting Shiba Inu in the first quarter of 2022.
There has also been ongoing lobbying among Shiba Inu supporters to have the meme coin listed on Robinhood although the company recently said that it was not in a hurry to add another crypto coin to its trading platform.
